Professionals
Keith Wood – Head Professional
Keith turned Professional in 1986 and joined Brocket Hall in 1992. He is the Head Professional of Brocket Hall Golf Club and the Palmerston Golf Academy. Although he has had involvement in all aspects of golf operations his true passion is coaching and the development of the game.
During his career he has taught some of the best golfers in the world including Seve Ballesteros and Stephen Ames.
Keith coaches Nick Faldo and is actively involved with Nick's golf development programme, the Faldo Series.
Keith has been recognised as one of the "Top 25" instructors in the UK by Golf Monthly Magazine. He is a National Coach for the England Women's Golf Association and County Coach of Hertfordshire County Ladies Golf Association.
He has studied Sports Psychology and is a qualified NLP Practitioner. Although recognised as a performance coach, Keith enjoys teaching any standard from beginner onwards.
Simon Garner – Teaching Professional
Simon joined Brocket Hall Golf Club in 2000. He has been a professional since 1988 gaining his full PGA status in 1992. During his career Simon has played on professional tours including the Europro Tour and European Challenge Tour.
Since 1996, Simon has returned to his teaching. Always wanting to improve the depth and understanding of the game, Simon regularly attends seminars through the PGA CPD programme. In 2007 Simon became a Titleist Performance Institute fitness instructor (http://www.mytpi.com/).
Overall, his approach to all of his pupils, whether they are just starting out or a professional, an individual or a corporate group, is holistic - aiming to work with a person's natural ability and adding: golf knowledge, improved technique, physical condition and psychology allowing the pupil to be a better golfer.
Robert Godber – Teaching Professional
Robert joined Brocket Hall in 1998. After a successful amateur career including winning the Prince of Wales Trophy in 2000 and a golf scholarship to America, he became the Touring Professional for Brocket Hall in 2001 playing on various tours around the world, including the Sunshine tour in South Africa.
He joined the team in 2004 to concentrate on coaching and developed the Palmerston Golf Academy Junior Programme.
Always looking to further his knowledge, in 2007 Robert became a TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and gained Level 2 Certification in 2009. In 2009 he also achieved a NLP Diploma. More recently, Robert has been selected as one of the Hertfordshire County Academy coaches, which is part of a programme to help develop junior golf within the county.
He teaches a wide range of pupils from beginners through to professionals and will help develop all aspects of an individual's game involving their mind, body & technique to improve their performance.
